The AnyTone AT-D578UVIII PLUS is a tri-band radio for DMR (digital mobile radio) systems. This radio is compatible with MOTOTRBO Tier 1 & 2, and supports traditional FM. The 578UVIIIPLUS Mobile offers real VFO operations, compared to other DMR radios on the market. It supports up to 4,000 memory channels, up to 10,000 talk groups, and up to 500k digital contacts. Compared to the 578UVIIIPRO, the new 578UVIIIPLUS is capable of APRS Location Data Rx & Tx. Note that it does not support full APRS—just Location Data Services. This APRS functionality will also depend on support from your local area repeater. The 578UVIIIPLUS has Bluetooth capabilities so you can connect it to your audio devices. It also allows you to use Airband Rx, so you can listen to airplanes and air traffic channels. It's an exciting, fun bonus feature. The 578UVIIIPLUS allows you to receive DMR and analog channels (or two analog channels) at the same time. Each band has a respective volume control, each assigned to a particular VFO. This radio is a technical product that requires a degree of skill and familiarity to operate. It is always shipped with up-to-date firmware and software.
